At ItThynk Gaming, we are committed to driving the future of the African gaming industry by advocating for its recognition and representation in the government policies.
Despite the significant growth of the gaming sector, it is not yet recognised by the South African government in the same way as its industries like film, which benefits from supporting through the bodies such as the National Film and Video Foundation (NFV). Through our industry advocacy and lobbying efforts, led by experienced management consultant Bandile Phuthuma, we aim to change that by securing a place for gaming within governmental frameworks.
This initiative is crucial for the growth and sustainability of gaming in Africa. By establishing gaming as a recognized industry within national policies, we open doors for infrastructure development, investment incentives, education programs, and fair regulation. It will enable the gaming sector to thrive, unlocking opportunities for innovation, job creation, and global competitiveness. Our goal is to collaborate with key stakeholders to position gaming as a valuable contributor to Africa’s digital economy and ensure it receives the same governmental support as other creative industries.
