The TMG Grade 12 Winter Exhibition in Soweto

As the leaders of tomorrow continue to emerge from South Africa’s townships, the Tebello Molapo Group (TMG) proudly hosted its first Social Corporate Responsibility initiative: the Grade 12 Winter Career Exhibition. The Winter Career Exhibition took place on the 26th of July 2025 at Pimville Community Hall, from 10:00 to 16:30.

TMG is a cost consulting and contract management company serving the mining sector and with that, they brought this initiative to life with one key purpose — to offer structured, meaningful career support to learners by partnering with corporate South Africa, local government, and NGOs. The event aimed to directly impact the youth of Soweto and surrounding townships, opening doors to a wide variety of career paths and opportunities.

Key Goals of the Exhibition:

  • Provide learners with exposure to multiple industries
  • Ensure representation from universities and colleges
  • Share information about admission requirements and financial aid

Key Sectors Included:

  • Information Technology
  • Marketing
  • Mining and Construction
  • Aviation
  • Property Development
  • Agriculture
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Pharmaceuticals

Where Does ItThynk Gaming Fit In?

As part of the ongoing Hyper Star Fury campaign, ItThynk Gaming joined the exhibition to inspire and educate learners about careers in the gaming industry. From game development and animation to digital storytelling, learners were introduced to the endless possibilities the creative tech world has to offer.

To drive home the message that “Gaming is a career,” learners got the chance to play Hyper Star Fury as part of the Hyper Star Challenge. The competition ended with a top score of 108,832, achieved by Helvan, a learner from a local high school — congratulations to her for becoming the first official winner of the BIG CHECK giveaway by Disputed People Games!

Alongside gaming, other organizations contributed generously to the event by giving away:

  • Laptops and tablets
  • Stationery and school bags
  • Spot prizes and educational resources

These giveaways weren’t just fun — they were purposeful tools to support learners in their academic and career journeys.

This exhibition is a testament to the power of cross-industry collaboration in empowering youth. By showcasing careers in both traditional sectors and emerging fields like gaming and digital marketing, the event highlighted just how broad and inclusive the modern working world can be.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to the Soweto community for showing up and showing off in support of their children’s future. And a special thanks to TMG for creating this opportunity to engage with learners, educate them, and guide them toward a brighter path.
