After seven years in development, Kunta Kontent has officially unveiled the much-anticipated teaser trailer for HIRU. This 3D African action-adventure game invites players on a gripping journey to avenge their clan and rescue a kidnapped sister from ruthless poachers, travelling across savannas, forests, and deserts.
The name HIRU carries a triple meaning: it draws from the Maasai reference as a greeting, it represents the game’s protagonist, and it embodies the heroic spirit at the heart of the story. Players step into the role of HIRU, embracing both the cultural depth and the epic quest the name represents.
Dean Gichukie, Game Producer and Designer of Kunta Kontent, spoke about the game’s cultural inspiration and creative journey during Africa Games Week 2024, in an interview for Podcast on Tourwith Disputed People Games. The game will be available on PC and Xbox.
