Disputed Pods is our in-house podcast by Disputed People Games, where the team of devs (Lebo, Atlehang, Gift, Nico and Homolang) dives into the world of gaming- discussing the latest releases, industry trends, and exploring both local and international gaming culture through a proudly South African lens.

Launched in 2024, the podcast has grown from strength to strength. Season 3 kicked off in April 2025, and this week we wrapped up with an exciting Episode 10, bringing the season to a memorable close. The finale featured highlights like a discussion on RELOOTED by Nyamakop , nod to South African rapper and gamer Nasty C’s Sway in the Morning freestyle, and a hilarious general knowledge game that took a few unexpected turns.
The hosts described Episode 10 as “10/10,” and we couldn’t agree more.
Season Highlights: Guests, Games, and Great Vibes
This season delivered a mix of dry humour, thought-provoking takes, and a few dark jokes that had the hosts questioning their own comedic limits. But beyond the banter, Season 3 was defined by meaningful conversations with exciting guests:
- Pete the Skete from Last Minute Digital ( S3 Episode 5 ) joined us to talk about the studio’s game dev journey and their upcoming expansion into music.

- Thato Moet, founder of Island Gals Shred ( Episode 6)gave us insight into being a woman in a male-dominated sport—and how she’s creating a space for other women to thrive and shred in their own lane.

- Rodwin Malinga, Lead Developer (Episode 3 and Episode 10 )at Disputed People Games, reflected on his time at Nyamakop and how the team handled the backlash after the RELOOTED trailer drop. His takeaway? Negativity is inevitable—how you respond is what truly counts.

A Season of Growth, Collaboration & Real Talk
If there’s one theme that stood out this season, it’s collaboration and diversity. Whether through guest features or internal discussions, Disputed Pods continues to champion the idea that South Africa’s gaming industry is not just growing—it’s evolving.
We want people to talk about South African-made games with the same excitement and recognition as international titles—and that’s exactly what Season 3 aimed to push forward.
This is not goodbye— but catch up with you later!
