Shining a Spotlight on the African Gaming Industry with Africa Games Week 2025

The African gaming scene is growing, and this December, all eyes are on Cape Town. From 1-4 December 2025, Africa Games Week returns to the V&A Waterfront under the theme: Shining a Spotlight on the African Gaming Industry.

Now in its 8th edition, Africa Games Week is a premier event that has grown into one of the continent’s biggest gatherings for game developers, creatives, investors, and innovators. It’s a vibrant mix of networking, deal-making, knowledge sharing, and pure creative energy… exactly what the industry needs as it continues its upward climb. This year’s event is set to be the most ambitious, bringing together:

  • 400+ industry experts
  • 2000+ prearranged meetings
  • 2000+ attendees
  • 350+ game studios
  • 50+ countries and games

The 2025 theme highlights a shared vision that brings African talent together to discuss real opportunities around skills development, infrastructure growth, policy, and empowering young creators. Raymond Ledwava will take to the stage to moderate key discussions, including sessions on The Jobs Fund and its Impact on Gaming, Future-Proofing the Industry, and a closing conversation with Nick Hall on the next steps. Attendees can expect a dynamic mix of Government and Policy Leaders, Gaming and Creative Industry Leaders, Investors and Funding Organisations, Educational Institutions, Technology, and Infrastructure Providers.

The Policy Conference at AGW provides a strategic space where government bodies, industry voices, and stakeholders sit together to address what policies are needed to grow the gaming economy in Africa, how to attract more investment, and what support structures will help local studios thrive to chart a practical roadmap for a supportive, scalable, and future-ready African gaming ecosystem.

As the industry accelerates, AGW continues to be the stage where African creators share knowledge, showcase their work, and build the relationships that push the continent forward. If you want to learn, connect, and be part of the continent’s gaming future, tickets are still available on Quicket.
