The wait is finally over! The much-anticipated drop of Relooted launched on 10 February 2026 on Steam, marking a major milestone for South African game development.

Nyamakopis an independent game development studio creating original PC and console games for a global audience. Their work is African-inspired and developed by a diverse team based primarily in South Africa, with collaborators across the continent. With Relooted, they deliver a bold and culturally grounded experience that challenges players to think critically while engaging in thrilling gameplay.
Relooted is a side-scrolling action-adventure heist game set in an Africanfuturist world. Players take on the role of a crew reclaiming real African artifacts from Western museums. The game blends tactical planning, environmental puzzles, and fast-paced parkour-driven escapes. The crew includes a retired history professor and a young security specialist, among others. Each member brings unique skills that must be deployed strategically on each mission.
Early hands-on previews have generated strong anticipation. A Summer Games Fest preview described it as “it’s currently one of my most anticipated games, largely for how good it felt to see my well-laid plans culminate in perfect escapes or adaptation in the moment, resulting in nail-biting close calls.”

- Pull off heists: Plan and prepare your escape route by solving puzzles and placing teammates in the right place. When you’re ready, take the artifact and escape with Nomali’s flow-based parkour abilities.
