Cape Town-based indie studio Yellow Lab Games has officially released their latest game, Metavoidal — a 2D pixel art, action rogue-lite that’s as intense as it is imaginative.

Released on 13 August 2025, Metavoidal throws players into a chaotic, music-driven world where your drumming skills determine your abilities and shape a dynamic metal soundtrack. You take on the role of a rebellious drummer, fighting to escape the clutches of an eldritch metal band — or, as the game puts it, “OR DIE TRYING.”
